Police are not looking for any other suspects after discovering a dead woman and an injured man at the same Auckland address last night.
Auckland Detective Inspector Chris Cahill said police were called to the Mt Wellington address at 9.15pm last night by occupants who reported a domestic dispute was taking place.
Upon their arrival, police discovered the body of a 47-year-old woman and a man with injuries to his arms.
The man is at Middlemore Hospital awaiting surgery.
The address has been secured and a detailed scene examination will take place today.
A post mortem examination on the dead woman will take place later today and her body remains inside the address, Mr Cahill said.
"Police are not looking for any other persons in connection with the death but have a significant investigation to undertake to ascertain what has occurred at the address."
