It also wants laws changed so that couples in de facto relationships and in civil unions can adopt, whether same-sex couples or heterosexual couples.
And it wants better support for young people who are bullied over their sexual identities.
Labour MP Louisa Wall last night released the party's rainbow policy, aimed at ending discrimination against gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgender and intersex people (GLBTI).
Since 2011 Australian passports have offered three gender options: male, female and indeterminate. Intersex people, who have both male and female features, and transgender people can put X instead of F or M in the gender question.
Louisa Wall, whose same-sex marriage bill passed into law last year, said all people had the right to live in dignity, regardless of sex, sexual orientation or gender identity.
Changes to marriage laws last year mean married same-sex couples can adopt but not same sex de facto couples or any couples in a civil union.
