Travellers over the Haast Pass will get a third chance to use the pass.
But no firm date has been announced to get the vital connection with the West Coast fully open.
State Highway 6 was hit by heavy storms late last month and has been blocked to various degrees since September 22.
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency said the highway was currently closed during the day, with managed convoys.
It was open overnight from 4.30pm-8am, controlled with a traffic signal near Muddy Creek slip site, the agency said.
Three convoy times were now available during the day, at 10am, noon and 2pm.
The convoy at noon was added yesterday after the agency talked to bus companies.
Convoy locations for northbound (Haast-bound) traffic were Makarora township, and Blue Pools for southbound (Lake Hawea-bound) traffic.
The road was successfully opened to traffic over the weekend, with crews returning to the site this week to continue working to clear slip material around daytime traffic convoys.
The highway was closed during the day, apart from the convoy times.
Traffic lights would be in place for travel between 4.30pm and 8am, with a single lane open, the agency said.
Crews were working hard to reopen the road to two lanes as soon as possible.
