Magnitude 5.9 quake hits central Chile

A magnitude 5.9 quake has hit central Chile, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake was centered 38km north of Valparaiso and had a depth of 19km, the USGS said.

There were no immediate reports of damage.
