University A beat Pirates 18-13 in a hard fought premier rugby match at the University Oval today with first five-eighth Chris Noakes scoring all the points.
Noakes kicked five penalty goals and a dropped goal to break the hearts of a gutsy Pirates team.
The students now have a buffer of nine points over Pirates in the Gallaway Trophy competition.
University remains the only unbeaten team and it gained the win on Saturday by a gutsy defensive display.
Harbour gained the upset of the day when it gave Southern its third successive loss with a 24-10 win.
