A 34-year-old man was arrested after an alleged incident at Moeraki, south of Oamaru, on Friday.
Police were called to the incident about 4.30pm and the man was charged with male assaults female, intentional damage and injuring with the intent to injure.
He will appear in the Oamaru District Court this month.
