Senior Constable Lox Kellas, of Portobello, inspects a large slip of mud and rocks that blocked Harington Point Rd, 2km east of Portobello, yesterday.
Contractors will return today to clear the slip.
''It is just like porridge - pouring from the hill across the road,'' Snr Const Kellas said.
This was the largest of a series of slips along the harbour road. Detours remained in place for motorists.
