Looking for something sexy, stylish and not just a pretty face? Then this is the phone for you.
Holding the Samsung U900 brought me instant pleasure and a huge confidence boost! Its sleek full-metal body and super slim (12.9mm wide) slide design looked great whether I was in the office or at the bar.
Because of the U900's minimalist design, I got a pleasant surprise when I discovered how much this phone really had to offer.
Underneath this minimalist facade is a range of extensive functions and an entertainment suite with benefits.
The 5 megapixel camera takes excellent shots in any light and guides you with face detection, replacing the need for your camera.
After catching my breath from the initial shock of how clear and sharp the images were, I discovered the picture editor.
One minute later, my work colleague was a cat, then Santa; soon, I was making mosaics and using various editing functions, such as crop blur and filter. The video function was also notable.
Using high-level video editing software I could create my own video clips with sound and visual effects. The $999 phone also has all the usual connectivity functions such as Bluetooth and USB high speed.
The music player had great sound provided by Bang&Olufson with all music plus image files easily organised and accessed.
For all the text maniacs out there, the user-friendly keypad will appeal. The keys are large with each key having a raised groove at the bottom and distinguished gaps between.
The keypad could be used to navigate around the phone or the small touch screen interface at the bottom of the screen, which was my preferred option.
The sensitivity could be adjusted to suit and vibrating feedback was used when each button was pressed resulting in the ultimate touch screen experience.
I was sceptical at first, when I heard Samsung hoped this phone would bring the same level of excitement as the Olympic Games, but this phone gets gold from me.
Samsung has well and truly achieved its main goal of combining an attractive minimalist look with leading edge functionality and an entertainment focus.
