In full voice at the South Dunedin Street Festival last Saturday are Friend-Link choir "Freedom to Sing" , led by choir leader Danie Urquhart. Friend-Link manager Felicity Bond said the singing group for people with intellectual disabilities began about six years ago with a handful of people and now there were about 30 regulars. They met every second Saturday at Friend-Link’s South Dunedin premises to sing together.
Mrs Urquhart said the group was very fluid. "You can come whenever you want, sing whatever you want to sing.
"It is a place to feel comfortable to sing and dance."
