Going for a spin

Contractors work on dismantling the kinetic wind sculpture outside the city library in the Civic Plaza in Dunedin this week.

Dunedin City Council asset management officer Brent Dewar said the sculpture, by Derek Ball, had been removed for some regular maintenance work.

A bearing that had worn out and stopped the top part of the sculpture spinning would also be replaced.

The sculpture was expected to be down for about a week.
