A Dunedin man is on the run after allegedly crashing into a police patrol vehicle and fleeing.
The driver was reversing out of an angled carpark in Dundas St about 2pm on Thursday when he hit the police vehicle, Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond, of Dunedin, said.
The rear right of the patrol car was damaged in the collision.
When officers signalled for the driver to pull over, he sped off.
Officers decided to abandon the pursuit due to speed and danger to the public, Snr Sgt Bond said.
The inquiry was ongoing. — APL
