Police have named the man who died after entering Lake Tekapo last week.
He was Baldeep Singh, 34, of Christchurch.
Police had received reports Mr Singh had entered the water on Thursday last week.
Police divers recovered his body the next day, following a two-day search.
Emergency services were alerted about 8pm on the Thursday, after reports a man had entered the water and not resurfaced.
Police search and rescue staff, Coastguard Mackenzie Lakes volunteers, Fire and Emergency NZ and a helicopter were involved in the search.
Police were continuing to make enquires on behalf of the Coroner.
In an unrelated incident, police found another body in Lake Tekapo yesterday.
