Reading the William Shakespeare play The Winter's Tale in the 86-Hour Shakespeare Marathon at Fortune Theatre Studio in Dunedin yesterday are Cheryl Amos (left) and Julie Edwards.

Theatre spokeswoman Lucy Summers said the comedy was the last of the 37 Shakespeare plays read ''back-to-back'' in 86 hours.

''We finished with five minutes to spare.''

The ''well-supported'' event was a success and positive feedback was given from the readers and audience, she said.

''It was a really great experience and so many people got into it and really enjoyed taking part.''
