Koffie Fugah (above, right) and the Yexoese Drummers get the crowd moving at the World Peace Day festival at Forsyth Barr Stadium yesterday.
Hundreds milled about in the stadium in Dunedin for what organisers said was the first multicultural peace festival of its kind in New Zealand.
The event came on the eve of World Peace Day today.
Event host and co-organiser Wyeth Chalmers said the multicultural aspect of the festival was central to its success.
It featured dozens of stalls vending food, crafts and information, and there were two stages for performances and speeches throughout the day.
About 200 people took part.
