
Among the star performers were the Green Island team who won the fours title.
Daniel French, Nathan Trowel, Matthew Foster and Keri Te Tamaki held off a determined challenge from the Wakari four of Robert Wilson, John Williams, Jane Wintringham and Jacquie Williams to win 11-4.
In the semifinals, the French combination had a 12-2 win over the experienced Southland team of Gary Low, Graham Low, Warwick Grey and Jan Low.
Wilson’s four beat Matthew Ellis, Ryan Bishop, Angela Bishop and Delwyn Ellis (Counties) 6-4 in the other semifinal.
Two other Otago teams reached finals.
The Wakari triple of Brandon Williams, Hayden Warnes and Jakeb White took Alex Reed, Matthew Farquhar and Colin Williams (Auckland) to an extra end before the Auckland trio won 8-7.
Wakari beat the Counties triple 11-9 in one semifinal, while new Mat Blacks bowler Reed led his team to a 12-3 win over John Williams, Irene Cron and Jacquie Williams (Wakari) in the other.
Another Wakari team featured in the pairs final.
Warnes and Brandon Williams were pipped 12-9 by the Hutt Valley pair of Jordan Keene and Mark Jacombs.
Warnes and Brandon Williams had beaten Wakari clubmates John Williams — Brandon’s father — and Jacquie Williams 11-9 in the semifinals.
John and Jacquie Williams won the overall aggregate trophy across all three disciplines.
More than 200 bowlers competed at the tournament.
Many of them will now head to the New Zealand championships starting in Palmerston North on Saturday.
