As with four homes on nearby Angelo Dr, developer James Clarke from James Clarke Property had the three-bedroom, two-bathroom homes pre-built in Christchurch, then transported down.
“A huge amount of credit goes to the contractors and consultants involved, projects like this only come together because of the experience, hard work and problem solving from everyone involved.”
Three of the homes were presold for about $1.5 million each by local Colliers agents Richie Heap and Poppy Thomas, while they’ll shortly be selling the other three for about $1.7m each.
Clarke says off-site construction improves efficiency, quality control and delivery timeframes in challenging environments.
“We’re hoping this inspires others to do similar projects in the area as it has far less impact on the environment than traditional construction.”
One example, he says, is there’s not the need for frequent deliveries of building materials.
Clarke says these homes have a higher spec than those in Angelo Dr.
“There are some pretty impressive mansions built up in that area so we increased the spec on those a little bit to try to keep up with the neighbours.”
