Firefighters were called to a blaze at a two-storey home in Alexandra on Wednesday night.
The fire in Bridge Hill was called in just after 6.30pm.
A Fire Service spokesman said the fire was ''through the roof'''.
All Alexandra units were at the scene, and Omakau and Clyde were assisting to contain the blaze.

He said all people in the house were accounted for and were safe.
