The Millers Flat bridge will close for nearly two weeks from 9am on Monday until July 19 — the span of the July school holidays.
The bridge will close to allow bridge supports to be rebuilt and for street light maintenance.
A detour will be available via Jedburgh Bridge in Roxburgh — meaning a 34km trip to Roxburgh and back to the bridge for anyone travelling south from the village.
Pedestrian access over the bridge will be permitted during the daytime hours with an escort through the work site and a signposted pathway will be available at night. No vehicles will have access during the closure.
