Making a splash

The Arrowtown Primary School relay team, Ben Hull (10), Rose Wood (12), Bailey Saville (12), and Charlotte Hall (12), competed in the Central Otago Primary Schools Swimming Sports yesterday at Cromwell.

More than 260 children from 21 schools throughout Central Otago and the Queenstown Lakes area took part and 15 records were broken in 51 events.

Emma Dick (12), of Alexandra, was the individual girls' champion and Patrick Harris (12), of St Josephs School, Queenstown, was the individual boys' champion.

Convener Sharon Booth said swimmers' times would determine whether they qualified for the Otago championships.
