A 48-year-old Invercargill man was taken to Dunedin Hospital with a broken leg yesterday afternoon after a tractor tyre repair went wrong on a farm between Raes Junction and Island Block.
Senior Constable Jape Wanoa, of Roxburgh, said the man was working on a tyre, which was off the tractor, when he slipped and became trapped between the heavy centre and the tyre rim.
A tractor had to be used to free the man, Snr Const Wanoa said.
St John Southern Region communications co-ordinator Alena Lynch said the was taken to Dunedin Hospital.
