Bread delivery was delayed in North Otago yesterday after this truck's trailer (above) tipped over just before 6pm on the Waianakarua straight between Hampden and Herbert.

Sergeant Wayne Brew, of Oamaru, said the southbound truck and trailer veered off the road and hit a small ditch, tipping the trailer.

The unit ended up back on the road.

The driver was unhurt.

Sgt Brew said the stretch of road was straight with a slight incline.

The cause of the crash was unknown and it crash was under investigation.

The southbound lane was closed for several hours.
