A 15-year-old Oamaru girl will be referred to police youth aid after allegedly stealing a car in Oamaru this week.
After an unsuccessful attempt to steal a car parked on the corner of Tyne and Wansbeck Sts early on Thursday, she stole a vehicle from Humber St, a police spokeswoman said.
After driving around for a while, she did burn-outs and skids until one of the front tyres came off its rim.
Later that day, she was found trying to change the tyre and she had nunchucks in her possession.
