Holcim decision postponed again

About 8000 North Otago households are being told by Holcim (New Zealand) Ltd in a newsletter being delivered over the next few days a decision about building the company's Weston cement plant has again been put on hold.

The Otago Daily Times reported on October 2 the parent company in Switzerland would not reconsider the plant until next year, after delaying a decision until late this year.

The newsletter says the delay is because of the continued uncertainty of the global financial situation.
