An Oamaru man who was challenged by the owner of a property he allegedly entered with the intention of stealing alcohol appeared in the Timaru District Court on Monday.

Bailee Andrew James Hawtin (23) appeared in front of Judge Joanna Maze on charges of burglary, wilful damage and threatening a person.

He was remanded in custody to July 24, when he is scheduled
