A car suspected of doing "some sort of burn-out'' near Oamaru had to be rescued from a ditch by a tractor after crashing tonight, police say.
Three people were in the car when the incident happened on State Highway 1 - the Pukeuri-Oamaru Rd - just north of Oamaru about 7.30pm.
Police were alerted after the car left the road and crashed into a ditch, before later being pulled out by a tractor, a police spokeswoman said.
All three occupants escaped injury, but one person was arrested following the incident.
