Members of the Tuvaluan group who wowed the crowd gathered at the street party to celebrate the reopening of Oamaru’s Forrester Gallery following a $7 million, three-storey extension at the back of the building.

The group was one of several acts to perform at the party on Saturday, with Thames St pedestrianised outside the gallery building and food trucks on the grass for those who were peckish.

Workshops, guided tours and artist talks took place as part of a packed schedule, funded by a private donation.
