The driver of a ute was lucky to escape with minor injuries after it collided with a minivan and rolled on State Highway 1 north of Oamaru about 2pm, police say.
A silver Toyota minivan exiting Kaik Rd appeared to have failed to give way as it entered the State Highway, Sergeant Tony Woodbridge, of Oamaru, said.
The southbound ute hit it and flipped.
Members of the public stopped to assist the driver.
The driver of the minivan and his passenger were unhurt.
Glenavy and Oamaru emergency services attended.
The driver of the ute was treated at the scene.
No further details were available.
