Arrest after man 'threatened to kill' woman

A 36-year-old Invercargill man was arrested in Queenstown yesterday after threatening to kill a woman.

Sergeant Kate Pirovano said the woman was walking in Shotover Street at 5pm when the threat was made.

"Police pulled up to speak to him and he got very fired up, resisted arrest, obviously was arrested, and a knife was found in his bag at the station."

Sgt Pirovano said the man is likely to face charges of possessing a knife and threatening behaviour.
