A pair of artists and art supplies dealers are doing their bit to help Plunket by giving half of the proceeds from their online art auction to the children's support service.

Rachael Errington and Karyn Hitchman, the Queenstown talents behind Quality Canvases and Art Supplies, host the auction in the Cloakroom Gallery, on Saturday, August 6, from 10am to 5pm.

The duo posted images of the works online, at www.qualitycanvases.co.nz.

Pieces by Errington and Hitchman will go to the highest bidders.

The largest is Wakatipu Winter, by Errington. She said this week the auction was motivated by the success of a silent auction and donations she helped organise in late 2009, which raised just over $3500 for the Otago SPCA, as well as to have some fun.

A selection of canvases and paints would also be for for sale to aspiring Wakatipu artists, she said.
