The Queenstown Art Centre is planning a $24,000 interior refurbishment.
The cloakroom of the old school building will make way for the centre's first dedicated office and the hub of all the society's activity planning.
An enclosed studio will become the new storage room.
Society members hope the renovation can begin this winter, depending in part on the outcome this month of their $12,000 application to the Lottery Grants Board. The Central Lakes Trust granted up to $8000 and the remainder could be met by the society.
