Works from more than 40 artists will go on sale this weekend during the Queenstown Art Society's Mad Easter Sale - with nothing priced over $500.

Society president Barbara Glass said the contributing artists - some of whom had dropped off 20 to 30 pieces each - included Brian Millard, Marilyn Palmer, Gus Watson, Spike and Sue Wademan, Mags Meechang and Jeri Elliot.

The works were sold by the society on behalf of the artists, with books, paints, brushes, magazines and maps available, as well as free frames.

The sale is on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the art centre.
