‘‘Everything just fell into place,'' Mrs Heazlewood said.
‘‘People mingled and everybody just loved it. It was catch-up time with former members and guys from out of town.''
Along with a strong local turnout by Wakatipu players, past members also travelled to the centenary from Christchurch, Invercargill, Dunedin and Cromwell.
The celebrations involved plenty of reminiscing, as well as several separate events including two days of bowls at the club, a centenary dinner on Saturday night attended by about 70 and featuring guest speaker John McBeth, and a barbecue to close the celebrations on Sunday.
Mrs Heazlewood said the clubrooms were ‘‘transformed'' for the weekend by decorations, and the catering by the women of the Arrowtown Volunteer Fire Brigade was a huge hit.
