Amy, who began skating last year, was the youngest of the skaters, aged up to 15, who performed a condensed version of their forthcoming Wizard of Oz ice show, to be staged in the resort between August 23 and 25.
Today, the festival action moves to Earnslaw Park for Downtown Day - dubbed the best lunch break of the year. Beginning at noon with the QRC Hospitality Race, 10 teams of three will have to complete a relay race around the course, challenging a porter to carry a suitcase over an obstacle course, a housekeeper to make a bed and a bar person to carry a tray of drinks to the finish line.
Following will be the Cup and Cake Competition, in which competitors in the 5-10, 11-16 and adult age groups will have to carry a boxed cupcake on a spatula around an obstacle course, ensuring the box remains clean and devouring the cupcake at the finish line.
The highlight of the afternoon entertainment is likely to be the Drag Race where 13 ordinarily reserved and professional businessmen get in touch with their feminine side, donning high heels, short skirts, false eyelashes and wigs to compete for bragging rights.
A high-speed, highly competitive dash around the course would result in one competitor named Drag Queen 2013, with awards for Miss Photogenic, Miss Friendly, Miss Personality and Miss Best Dressed.
