Golfers join New Zealand fundraiser

Queenstown's Allen Futcher (front), who won the Queenstown Golf Club's New Zealand Open Day on Saturday, shooting 65, with some of the 76 players entered in the tournament.

The club was one of 125 across New Zealand, including Arrowtown and Kingston, which participated in the tournament, a fundraiser for The First Tee, an international youth development organisation which teaches young people about golf and its inherent values.

For his efforts on the course on Saturday, Mr Futcher won a season pass to the 2013 NZ Open, being held from March 12 to 15 at The Hills and Millbrook Resort.
