Texas-based alt-country roots rock star Jackie Bristow is bringing it all back with a "Coming Home" tour, which takes in Bannockburn and Gibbston, near Queenstown.

The artist, born and raised in and now based in Austin, will perform at the Desert Heart Winery, Bannockburn, with Australian guitarist Mark Punch as a special guest, on Sunday, at 5pm. Tickets cost $25 from the venue and at the door.

Bristow will play solo at Waitiri Creek Winery, Gibbston, on March 3, at 3pm.

Tickets are limited to 30 and cost $80, including the first drink on arrival and canapés.

After releasing her third album, Freedom in New Zealand and Australia and touring in support of Shawn Mullins, Bristow returned to the United States last February as the opening act for acclaimed guitarist Tommy Emmanuel.

Playing to sold-out 1500-capacity venues, Bristow opened for such notables as Marc Cohn, John Waite, B.J. Thomas, John Oates, Bettye LaVette, Joe Ely, Jimmy Lafave, Marcia Ball, Charlie Robison and Bob Schneider and, in past years, Daniel Lanois, Art Garfunkel, Phoebe Snow, Madeleine Peyroux, and Jimmy Webb.
