Hypnotist to perform in show supporting Jump Jam team

New Zealand stage hypnotist and clinical hypnotherapist Ian Blaine is in Queenstown for one day this week as part of Remarkables Primary School's Jump Jam fundraising activities.

Blaine's HypnoticFX show will appear in the Frankton school as he ''unlocks the imaginations of stage volunteers'' for comedic effect.

Remarkables Parents Association chairwoman Tracey Pedersen said Wakatipu residents were in for an afternoon of entertainment and curiosity.

''Ian has travelled extensively around the country putting on stage hypnosis events and has a reputation for running a professional, fun and enjoyable family show,'' Ms Pedersen said.

The show is a fundraiser to help the school's Jump Jam team to compete in the national competition.

''Our Jump Jam team of 10 have been practising daily and will be opening the show with a live performance,'' Ms Pedersen said.

The Jump Jam South Island Regional Championships are in Christchurch on September 21.

If successful, the team travels to Auckland for the national finals on 16 November.
