A Queenstown search and rescue team early yesterday found a local woman reported missing on Tuesday night.
Poor weather and diminishing light forced the woman to seek shelter while walking along the Ben Lomond Moonlight Track.
Sergeant Linda Stevens, of Queenstown, said the woman was found about 1.30am, in a hut.
The search and rescue team began walking along the track from the Arthurs Point end when the alarm was raised at 7.30pm.
Senior Sergeant John Fookes, of Queenstown, led the search and rescue operation.
He could not be reached for further comment yesterday.
