A pilot was fined after admitting in the Wellington District Court he was under-trained to fly into the Queenstown Airport two years ago.
Kerwin Killian (51) pleaded guilty to two charges of performing an air operation into Queenstown in a British BAe 146 aircraft without completing a minimum of two flights into the resort under supervision.
He was fined $950 on both charges by Judge Peter Hobbs and an application for name suppression from his lawyer Richard Laurenson was declined.
Killian had flown an aircraft into Queenstown Airport on January 21 2011 without supervision, as required under
Air National's corporate company rules.
His offence was one under the Civil Aviation Act 1990.
