Jamie (12, left) and Sarah (14) Wood still love their playhouse - but they can no longer fit inside. They decided to sell it and give the money to two worthy cancer charities.
After years of fun and play and laughter the best plaything two girls ever had is to be auctioned to raise money for prostate cancer research and CanTeen.

Sisters Sarah and Jamie Wood have a lifetime of fun memories playing schools, cooks and shops in their little house, built for them by their grandfather, Bill McCallum, when they were 4 and 2.

"We used to play jobs and cooking and dolls and sleepovers," Sarah said.

"It's cool. It can be used for so many things. We never got bored with it."

Now there is no room for the playhouse at their new home and they have reluctantly conceded they may have outgrown it.

"We can't really fit in the door anymore," Jamie said.

"We have been talking about selling it for the last two years but they always said, `No. We can't'," Mrs Wood said.

Having finally been convinced to part with the house by their parents, Mike and Sharee, the girls decided they wanted to give the proceeds of any sale to charity.

"Granddad suggested it and we thought it would be a good idea," Sarah said.

In honour of their grandfather, who has prostate cancer, they decided some of the proceeds should go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Two of their friends have also had to deal with childhood cancer so they will give the other half of the money to CanTeen.

They hope to raise more than $1000 for the sturdy house, which is stored at their grandmother's house in Arrowtown.

"Whoever gets it is going to have a lot of fun," Mrs Wood said.

The auction ends today at 5pm. To make an offer call or text Mike on 021 946-232.

• Remarkable Hiab Services has agreed to provide an hour-and a-half's use of a truck to the purchaser to help with removal costs.
