Queenstown Accommodation Centre is launching a new website to operate its holiday homes department as a separate company.
QAC Holiday Homes Manager, Caitlin Leiweke, said short-term occupancy figures in holiday homes for the winter season have increased by nearly 30% on last year's figure.
Ms Leiweke said the surge in occupancy has exposed a potential for the holiday homes department to operate as a separate business.
"Our goal is to expand our reach globally. We are developing a new website for the company and plan to operate using instant online reservations," she said.
High occupancy in July and August was a primary motivation for re-positioning the company, she said.
The new website is expected to be operational by December.
