About 70 Land Search and Rescue volunteers will compete for the Tautuku Cup, in the annual Southern Region LandSar competition in Wanaka tomorrow.
Tasks to be completed include tracking, first aid, rope work, navigation and river crossing.
The events are designed to help volunteers maintain their search and rescue skills and to enable them to work alongside colleagues from other areas.
Most of tomorrow's activities will take place in and around the Aspiring Helicopters base, in Mt Aspiring Rd. This year, some experimental format changes, including smaller team sizes, will be trialled.
