The Mactodd Brides through the Ages wedding expo and show is on in the Athenaeum Hall today.
The show has been a popular festival event in the past.
Arrowtown Autumn Festival co-ordinator Julie Hughes said this year there were 30 vintage bridal gowns on display that had not previously been viewed.
"There is everything from a black war-time gown to a wedding dress made from white possum fur," she said.
"The range of gowns is just beautiful."
As well as the parade of gowns, the show is an expo featuring "everything a bride would need at a wedding", Ms Hughes said.
There is wedding cake and canape tastings.
There are displays featuring everything from jewellery to spa treatments, to suit hire and dry-cleaning.
"You could organise an entire wedding from this one show," Ms Hughes said.
Those intending to get married soon also have the opportunity to enter a draw for a "Brides to Be" package.
The package has almost $3000 worth of goods and services to help ensure the big day is also a perfect day.
The package comprises a full wedding photography package from Sue Williams worth $1500; bridal insurance from Insuranz; hen's night canapes from Mann Made Catering and the start of a honeymoon package from Flight Centre.
The afternoon family show begins at 1.30.
The evening show, which will also feature a lingerie parade and mother of the bride outfit displays, begins at 7.30.
Tickets are only available on the door .
The afternoon show costs $8, and the evening show costs $20.
