Queenstown organisers announced more enhancements to the festival experience this week.
The 2013 festival is offering VIP tickets at $250 each, which gives ticket holders priority parking and a well-positioned private marquee with views of the main stage, fitted by Orange Group.
It will boast first-class bar and bathroom facilities, free canapes plus indoor and outdoor lounge seating.
Guests wanting an extra element of style and convenience can fly into the festival with Helitours for $105 per person.
In another first for Queenstown, festival-goers will use a radio-frequency identification wristband system to pay for goods and services.
Food, beverage and merchandise can all be purchased by swiping the wristband at the point of sale without needing to carry cash, or a wallet.
Ticket holders can visit Dash Tickets online to register their wristband account.
The wristband is also the festival pass and will be issued upon entry. Wristbands can be loaded with money wirelessly from any web device, such as a smartphone, before or during the event, or from recharging stations on site. Unused credit is refundable.
Kiwi dub roots sibling rockers Kora will headline the festival, closely followed by the dub funk afrobeat and soul collective the Black Seeds. Ladi 6, Sola Rosa, AHoriBuzz, the Upbeats with MC Tiki, Sunshine Sound System, Funkommunity, Peacekeepers featuring P-Digsss, Bora and Nicky Research, Soulsystem, Rhythmonyx, K+Lab and Analog MC and Turbohag, with host MC KPz, deliver the good times from noon to 1am.
Earlybird and first-release tickets have sold out, but final-release tickets are available from the festival website.
Ticket and accommodation packages available through Shotover Lodge have almost sold out. A new accommodation partner will be announced this week.
