There was drum'n bass - but not as you know it. About 150 Queenstown Primary School pupils performed a one-off ''Rad Rhythm'' show at the Queenstown Memorial Centre, last night.
The show was the culmination of 10 weeks' practice.
Team leader Alice Cannan said it was the first year the school had run the internet-based music programme, which taught the year 5 and 6 pupils drumming skills - on plastic rubbish bins ordered in from Dunedin - over 18 lessons.
After learning how to drum, the children put their own twist on it, added music and came up with performance pieces, including Queen's We Will Rock You and The Script's Paint The Town Green.
Ms Cannan said the programme had been ''awesome'' and the school would look to continue running it.
