Following Judy and husband Johnny as they attempt to live a picture-perfect 1950s lifestyle in the modern world, critically-acclaimed play, Home, I’m Darling, is being staged in September.
By renowned British playwright Laura Wade, it won the 2019 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.
Director Janey Bytheway says "it blends razor-sharp comedy with deeply emotional and highly relevant social themes".
"As a production, we’re aiming to create something really visually ambitious for our audience, but the writing itself is phenomenal.
"Each time you read the script, you discover another layer to explore."
The production will feature vintage-inspired costumes, immersive set design and the best music of the ’50s.
Bytheway says they are encouraging first-time as well as experienced performers.
The 15-minute auditions are being held on June 27 at Te Atamira — to book, visit www.remarkable-theatre.as.me/home-im-darling-auditions
