Tourist charged with dangerous driving

A Chinsese tourist has been charged with dangerous driving after being involved in two incidents near Queenstown yesterday.

Senior Constable Chris Blackford said police were first alerted to the 27-year-old man's driving when he overtook a truck on Gorge Rd while it was indicating to turn right.

Police received a second complaint from the public about 5.45pm when the man allegedly took a bend too wide on the Crown Range road and had a minor collision with an oncoming car .

"We were out there looking for him and another complaint came in,'' Sen Const Blackford said.

The man, who was travelling with his wife, will appear in the Queenstown District Court next week.

A condition of his bail is that he is not allowed to drive.
