Woman found in resort, man missing

A woman believed to be missing has contacted Queenstown police, but the search continues for a man in the resort.

Senior Sergeant Paula Enoka said the 25-year-old woman, who hadn't been seen since Sunday, turned up at the station today.

She said she had just been at a friend's house.

A 24-year-old man has not been seen since yesterday afternoon.

Snr Sgt Enoka said police were liaising with next of kin to try and confirm his whereabouts.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old man has been given a pre-charge warning after an incident at Harry's Bar in Queenstown.

Snr Sgt Enoka said the man was arrested for common assault.

"He was asked to leave and was helped to the door after finishing his drink. He then slapped the doorman across the face."

The man was held by bouncers until police arrived at the Brecon St premises.
