Preliminary results of the election for the trust board were released late yesterday and Jim Boult, who has just stood down as Queenstown mayor after two terms, was elected to the board, being the fourth-highest candidate.
Former Queenstown Lakes mayor Vanessa van Uden missed out. Only five candidates were selected out of 12 seeking election, and she was the unlucky candidate to finish sixth in the voting, just under 300 votes behind Trudi Webb.
Van Uden was the mayor in Queenstown from 2010-16, preceding Mr Boult.
Alexandra businessman Lindsay Breen was the top-polling candidate, followed by Kathy Dedo. Both were seeking re-election.

Former Central Otago mayor Tony Lepper was also re-elected.
Cath Gilmour and Rosie Hill did not seek re-election,
There are five trustees voted in while there are three independent appointed trustees.
The voter return percentage was 23.44%, being 10,075 votes of which 27.7% voted via the internet and 72.3% voted by post.
Central Lakes Trust is a charitable trust supporting the community by granting funds for charitable purposes throughout the Central Lakes district.
About $9-10 million is granted to community organisations throughout the trust's funding region, which spans most of Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes.
