Queenstown police released an image of two white-jacketed men, who were caught on CCTV inside the hotel on Thursday between 2am and 2.18am. The back window of the hotel was prised open and the two men could be seen looking around the bar, police say.

The hotel itself posted a note on its Facebook page warning people to be aware of burglars active in the tiny Central Otago town.
"We had some unsavory [sic] characters try to break in on Thursday morning, it said. ''They are wearing gloves and face masks so they're not just kids messing about. Please be safe, it may be time to lock your house.''
