Dog missing after crash

A woman who flipped her Bentley convertible on State Highway 6 south of Queenstown yesterday is ``heartbroken'' after her dog disappeared after the crash, police say.

Two motorists who stopped at the scene gave chase to four-year-old Boxer, Dora, but the dog eluded them and has not been seen since.

The 70-year-old sole occupant of the car was taken to Lakes District Hospital after the crash, which happened 13km south of Frankton, on the road to Kingston, about 11.45am.

No other vehicle was involved.

Acting Sergeant Heaeen Chung said police had yet to speak to the woman, who remained in hospital, but understood she was distraught about her missing pet.
